Today was Father's Day picnic at Jack's school. It started at 10:00 AM and when I arrived the kids were very excited. They made the Dad's wait in the hall while they calmed the kids.Jack saw me through the window and started laughing, He waved and pointed..."there's my Dad"
We all went out on the play ground for cupcakes and drinks. Jack ran around chasing his friend Ryan. I had a cupcake and watched. It was really great to be Jack's Dad.
I work from home and many other Dad's are not so lucky. Over half the kids had no Dad present. The teacher told me Dad's can't just leave work to come to a picnic. I can and I did. Some days I wonder about my choice to become self employed and work from home. Today, I am 100% sure it's the right thing for me and Jack. In the next few years Jack will be in the Woodbury elementary school just two blocks away. I will be able to walk him school each morning and pick him up each afternoon.
It's great to be Jack's Dad.
